It’s a cold cold winter here, and since we’re out of firewood, the only way I can think to keep warm is with some gaming hot takes! Since it’s just me in the cabin right now, I’ll throw this one on the fire.
Elden Ring/Darksouls is kind of a cozy game.
Sure, there’s the “classic example of a difficult game” but that really only applies to very specific spots in these games. Chilling in Firelink Shrine, any of the vistas across the Lands Between, there’s lots of slow moments to take it all in and appreciate the ambiance. Plus once you’ve gotten familiar with each zone you kinda navigate between enemies like a crowd, you’re weaving between them like “Excuse me, just trying to get through, sorry”
even attacking them becomes a muscle memory thing where you’re going “ok that’s the swing, now I move in and attack, ok next…”
COMFY! Not to mention the fashion souls aspect of looking like a complete freak the whole time.
