So say you got a generic video game baddie who shows up in 7 color variants (palette swap) throughout the adventure:
Blue, Yellow, Red, Green, Purple, White, and Black.
On pure instinct alone, how would rank the colors from weakest(default) to strongest variant(lv99 crime boss)?
FFVI examples:
When I think about the different ways it’s all based on an existing pattern. Like my first through is to start with white, yellow, oh that’s karate belts hmm okay
How about Blue, green, yellow.. aw crap that’s just the colour wheel!
Ignoring that though I will play your game! I say white, black, purple, yellow, blue, green, red. That feels right!
Tough question! For the Hazer/Warlock guys, I’d either say the medal they’re holding should indicate their difficulty, or if their skin could change from more human (easier) to more insane/monstrous (tougher). You could maybe make a case for that with them if it’s bronze/silver/gold/magic ore for the medals, or their skin getting more undead looking? It kinda feels like they go from beige to zombie green, to…enraged?
For the cloaks, my gut says brown would be the weakest since it’s a more “normal” robe colour, then the more uncommon the colour, the tougher the enemy! But who’s to say what pigments are rare in the World of FFVI?
